‘‘Melehi et Le Déluge’’ pursues the artist’s reflection upon the current climate challenges. The painter has been concerned with the subject since the 2016 International Climate Conference (Cop 22) in Marrakech. At that time, Loft Art Gallery showed his paintings under the title ‘‘Hymne au climat’’ (Climate Hymn).
Undulations once referred to as “flames” become rising waters. They pierce the horizon and reveal a chain of elements unleashed; threatening storm clouds and heavy swells suggest thunderclaps, and imminent catastrophe.
