“My dream is Pop!” presents a poetic vision of a colourful, multicultural, resolutely contemporary and unified Africa. This exhibition combines bright colours with popular symbolism. The artistic vision of artists of diverse origins, exploring their African roots, inspirations and singularities are recognised.
In the same model as “Prête-moi ton rêve”, the travelling exhibition designed to develop pan-African cultural collaboration, each of the artists offers their own vision of a globalised world where specificity subsists, creating cultural bridges of multiple geographies. Whether or not the works fall into the category of Pop Art, each of them takes source in the real and the popular themes that brought fame to the movement.
