Loft Art Gallery Marrakech is proud to announce the Solo Show of Kwaku Yaro entitled Material Muses opening on the 11th May 2024. The Material Muses will showcase the works of Kwaku Yaro, self-taught mixed media artist from Accra, Ghana. The exhibition will explore the textural aesthetics and qualities of his work, showcasing his extraordinary talent for the repurposing of materials. Yaro possesses a unique and distinct approach to portraiture that utilises a variety of textiles such as mats, plastic carrier bags, patterned fabrics and jute sacks to collage his portraits, expanding their dimension. Material Muses showcases Yaro’s aim to redefine traditional textile use and explore the endless possibilities material can provide.
